Zumba Class Review and I Heart Fishs Eddy

Mar 25

Yesterday, I took my first zumba class at the new Z Club NY. A studio dedicated to all things zumba. I usually take zumba at the gym but I have been dying to visit the studio.  Every month they do a free class/workshop. So I decided that would be the perfect time to try it out. I am trying to decide if I want to take a few classes there and still go to the gym. I don’t want to pay a lot for both so we will see what’s more economical. I went with my sister and a dear friend and we had a good time. As always zumba doesn’t disappoint. It truly is a great cardio workout. I was sweating a few minutes into my class.
For me when I workout I have to like what I’m doing and classes work for me which is why I gravitate so much to zumba. It’s fun, I love dancing and you burn tons of calories.

I definitely think I want to take more classes there but I want to try different instructors. The instructor we had was good but I have had some better ones. Ironically my teacher at my gym also teaches at Z Club NY and I love her.

I also want to try there other location, this location (Studio 19) is basically a rented studio space within a gym. I was hoping for a different experience.  I envisioned walking into a completely zumba studio where they sell merchandise, you can buy the dvd’s, etc, but it’s not. They have a location on the east side that I will be trying very soon.
It’s so amazing to me how zumba has become so popular. There is this huge zumbathon charity event next week on March 29th and it’s already sold out.
I totally forgot to mention that on my way to class my car wouldn’t start, it went completed dead. I was so annoyed. I had to take the train…thank god for mass transit.
After class, I went to one of my favorite stores in NY, Fishs Eddy. It’s a cute place to fine new plates in all shapes and sizes and place mats and all sorts of house ware goodies. I purchased a few place mats and a couple of orange plates. I got there when they were about to close so I didn’t have much time to shop around for to long. But I so wish I got their earlier because there were definitely a few things that I caught my attention, like these cute colorful dipping sauce bowls. There were tons of bright colored plates perfect for summer lunches and dinners. I must go back soon. If you are in NYC you must go to Fishs Eddy.
My focus today is getting my car fixed :-(
For breakfast this morning, I wasn’t sure what to eat and the fridge is a bit light, so I just had toast with peanut butter and of course a banana.

Today’s lunch a yummy crab cake wrap sandwich that included crab cake (from my sister), spinach and a laughing cow wedge.

Yesterday, I had the following:

BREAKFAST (1 egg, turkey bacon, whole wheat wrap, 1 banana and 1 laughing cow cheese wedge)
LUNCH (I had a late lunch because I wanted to eat something hearty before I went to zumba because I would be getting home really late and didn’t want to eat something heavy when I got home. I had left over spaghetti with spinach and turkey sausage from the other night.)

DINNER (I had dinner really late so I just had some toast with spinach and a laughing cow wedge and for dessert a Jell-o chocolate pudding).

This weekend my goal is to get ready for work. I go back in a week, I can’t believe my maternity leave is almost over ‘*sad face*.
What’s your plan for the weekend?
